I picked SMALL BEAUTY off a list of recent trans/queer books and recruited a handful of friends to read it with me as a kind of... let's call it a pop up book club. We're yet to have our discussion, so I don't want to talk too much about it here, but I do want to say that for a semi-random choice it's going to be super interesting to talk about. I felt a lot of feelings while reading, both about the characters, a couple of whom I got really attached to, and also about Trans Discourse things that I've been trying to hash out in my own mind for myself. I'm excited to have a conversation about it!
