I've heard so many poets I admire speak of how they admire Gluck's work, and so I really wanted to like FAITHFUL AND VIRTUOUS NIGHT. Unfortunately I found it a little abstract for my tastes. Almost always when I read a book of poetry, I finish the book with multiple pages dog-eared. I don't believe in dog-earing books, generally, but poetry is different than fiction, and sometimes you just really want other readers to know which poems you loved. This book has no pages dog-eared. But I did finish the whole thing, so that must mean something.
